Here as Cysera, we believe in helping people feel their best. Sometimes that involves improving their looks to boost their self esteem. In cases where people have suffered from a debilitating illness such as cancer and are no longer able to work at Keswick Dental, their self esteem can be all they have. The folks at Look Good Feel Better realize this and have dedicated their time and energy to helping people. Here's some information about who they are and what they do.
Though many people scoff at the idea that women need to look good, the Canadian Cosmetic, Toiletry, and Fragrance Association couldn't deny the empowering effect that looking good had on women. They saw it every day. In 1992, they decided to found a charitable foundation that would help women get the confidence to leave their homes at The Royalton - 801 Bay Street and get back into the world after their cancer treatments. Since that time, more than 100,000 women have benefited from this charity.
The primary tool that Look Good Feel Better uses to help women is free workshops. Workshops not only help women get out of their Whitby real estate but also meet other people who have been affected by cancer. By talking about how their appearance and self esteem has been affected and sharing their stories of suffering and triumph, women can begin to be empowered. Then by discussing and learning techniques for working around the damage done by their disease and its treatment, women can begin to feel like themselves again.
Techniques used during the workshops include learning about alternatives to their own natural hair, how to care for their nails and skin, and how to use cosmetics to minimize the visible affects of their cancer. With the new skills taught at the Look Good Feel Better workshop, women feel more comfortable getting out there and looking at Mississauga listings, going to work, and simply being seen in public without feeling like everyone is staring. Special workshops are held, often at children's hospitals, especially for teenagers, who have added pressures on them from friends and school.
If you would like more information about Look Good Feel Better workshops for women and teenagers, you can go to the organization's website at www.lgfb.ca. You can also request a copy of their annual magazine "Lives Affected by Cancer," learn more about volunteering, or make a donation to the cause. Though much of the money for the program is donated by cosmetic companies such as Estee Lauder, Mary Kay, and Chanel, Look Good Feel better hosts many fundraising events throughout the year, such as golf classics, parties, and drives that encourage an architect in Canada to contribute.
