Find a Spa Near You

Spa packages are the ideal choice for a Valentines gift certificate for the woman you love, for a day out with the girls, and as an escape from the stress of a high powered job. However, for some would-be pamper-ees, finding a spa near where they live is easier said than done. If you and your girlfriends are planning on pampering yourselves at a spa in the near future, here are some tips on uncovering the ones near you and choosing the ideal spa for your getaway.

Find a Local Spa

If you've only got an afternoon to spare for massages and pedicures, you obviously need to find something in your hometown. People who have taken condo rentals in Puerto Vallarta or who live in central Toronto will find themselves practically surrounded by spas, while small towners despair. But spas are so popular these days almost everywhere has some sort of facility. Check the yellow pages under 'spa' or under the individual treatment you want (such as 'electrolysis'). You can also ask the other ladies at work or in your social circle if they know a place.

Find a Destination Spa

If you've got even as much as a weekend set aside for your spa getaway, why not make a trip to a destination spa? It doesn't even have to be a long trip. You could theoretically fly to the Caribbean for a spa trip but you can also find one within a few hours drive. Your Edmonton mesotherapy clinic might have brochures for such a place, and so would the local tourism office. While there are plenty of day spas in the city, stay-over relaxation spas tend to be located in the country, so you'll have to drive rather than fly unless you have access to a helicopter.

Vetting Spas

All spas promote themselves as luxurious and claim to have only the most talented, discreet, and pampering staff. However we know that can't be true for every spa. If the spa is just down the street from your Eve condo, pop in and ask to be shown around before you make your booking. If it's a destination spa, get opinions from people who have already been there. This might be a friend you know from work or a total stranger. Stay-over spas will likely be listed on TripAdvisor, and you should be able to find reviews from former customers there.

Choosing a Spa

Once you have a short list of spas that would make acceptable retreats, consult with your friends from Fitness Toronto and decide together which one you should choose. Base your decision on the availability of treatments (would you rather a hot stone massage or a hot tub?), the booking times you'd be able to get (would you rather go on a Friday evening or a Tuesday morning?), and of course on the price.
